October Dinner by Paolo Pancotti

Each month when we meet for our monthly dinner it makes me
realise how quickly we are flying through the year – it’s hard to
believe that’s already October!

Paolo cooked us another wonderful dinner starting with thick cut bacon with a wonderful olive, caper and lemon salsa topped with crumbled egg – a very flash bacon and eggs?

The main was beautifully cooked John Dory sitting on a bed of
chickpea skordalia, this was a wonderful dish that was only
enhanced by the accompanying platters of seasonal sweet and sour vegetables and an Italian wheat salad. Unfortunately, my friend had decided he knew better than me what my camera setting should be and I forgot that he had adjust the settings – so the photo of the fish dish is unusable! Note to self – DO NOT let said friend touch
camera, by the way this is not the first time!

Paolo Dinner_cThe dessert, a pie with a shortbread crust filled with a strawberry balsamic jam and accompanied by a lemon custard was a divine
